Meet Your Clinical Therapist

Hello and welcome!

I am Stacey D. Miller: Founder and Owner of Mahogany Soul Counseling, LLC, a devout Christian, and a proud mother.

I love working with people as my faith and gift of connecting and building relationships are the foundation of everything I do. I have been told my energy is positive, warm, and contagious. I look for the lesson and silver lining in my experiences, especially the tough ones. I have a great sense of humor, or at least I crack myself up, and I love to laugh and spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, traveling, and attending music concerts and comedy shows.

I have been working in the field of social work for almost 30 years with children, adolescents, and adults through various settings of foster care, behavioral health, residential homes, (PHP) partial hospitalization programs, (EAP) employee assistance programs, and educational settings.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to support people who were hurting, therefore I became a confidant for my friends at an early age. I have always held that in high respect and honor when someone chooses to be vulnerable and share their life experiences with me. Although I am that for others, ironically, I did not realize the depths of my not allowing others to support me. Then without warning, life sucker-punched me! I mean a “TKO” (total knockout). The excessive work, poor diet, sleep deprivation, lack of exercise, and lack of self-care (binge-watching Netflix is not self-care by the way), caught up with me. My mind and body felt like it was short-circuiting. I was totally burned out! That is when I learned a hard and valuable lesson. Continually dismissing the whispers of what my body and soul had been trying to tell me for years, forced it to scream at a decimal that was painfully unbearable and demanded my attention. This was when my journey of soul healing started, with a trusted therapist. She allowed me the space to address the painful experiences in my life that I could no longer avoid. That is when I allowed my loving friends and family to support me.

Life happens to all of us. Whether we want it to or not. We are wired for connection and therefore do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. If you think I might be the therapist for you to walk alongside you as you either begin or continue your healing journey, please reach out. I would love to hear about how I can support you. You are Worthy of Healing!
